Documentary Screening: Stories of Black & Minority Entrepreneurs

In honor of Black History Month, the Athens Anti-Discrimination Movement (AADM) proudly announces the release of the Documentary  titled Changing the Narrative: Stories of Black and Minority Entrepreneurs, a powerful film highlighting the stories of Black and Minority business owners struggles and successes.

Following the screening, we will host a dynamic panel discussion on Addressing Racial Inequities faced by Black and minority-owned businesses in Athens diving into systemic barriers, solutions for economic empowerment, and strategies for fostering inclusive growth. Panelist include: Commissioner Patrick Davenport, Dr. Lakeisha Gantt, Nony, Maxim, Andrienne Chappell – Chalise (Owner of Heavenly Inspired Skincare Solutions), and Barnard Sims (The Barber).

Attendees will also have the opportunity to network, connect with local business leaders, and explore actionable ways to support minority entrepreneurship and community development.
