Empowerment Through Knowledge
Athens, GA – March 24, 2025 – Activists, community organizers, and protestors are invited to a Know Your Rights Workshop designed to equip them with essential legal knowledge to protect themselves and their communities. This vital event will take place on Tuesday, March 24, 2025, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at 780 Timothy Rd, Athens, GA 30606.
Guest Speaker: Caitlin May, Voting Rights Staff Attorney, will provide expert insights on legal rights, protest laws, and best practices for civic engagement and advocacy.
Participants will gain valuable information on:
- Understanding First Amendment Rights
- Legal protections for protestors and organizers
- How to handle encounters with law enforcement
- Including a Presentation and Breakout Session on Community Organizing & Activism Strategies.
