The Women’s Wellness and Justice Leadership Program empowers women by providing space for wellness and self-care, enhancing leadership and advocacy skills through workshops, and fostering strong community connections through monthly meetups. We encourage women to lead, thrive, and advocate for justice in their communities while prioritizing their wellness.

About The Program:

Social justice work is a powerful force for change, but the toll of advocating for equity and fighting systemic injustices can affect mental health, physical well-being, and the ability to sustain long-term efforts. Recognizing this, the Athens Anti-Discrimination Movement (AADM) Women’s Wellness and Justice Leadership Group—is designed to empower women by prioritizing self-care, leadership development, and community impact.

This initiative was launched in the honor of Debra Brenner’s legacy which lives on through this program, as we continue the fight for a more just, equitable, and compassionate world. We invite you to join us in this effort and become part of a community that stands for both wellness and justice.

Includes:

  • Monthly Wellness Meetups: Engage in workshops on self-care, leadership, storytelling, and community building. By Zoom or in-person.
  • Annual Women Wellness Retreat: A rejuvenating weekend retreat to reflect, recharge, and strategize for future action.

Applications are now open for this unique initiative, which combines leadership development, and wellness practices into a comprehensive experience for participants.
