The AADM Teen Social Justice Club is designed to cultivate future leaders, encourage youth activism, build students’ self-confidence through travel, performing arts, and history lessons. To dismantle the school to prison pipeline system and provide a safe space for students’ after-school.
Teen Social Justice after-school club is taught by educators, business professionals, social workers and passionate volunteers. Middle and high school students welcomed and no prior experience is required. Also includes homework support, and community services. TSJ After-school program begins September 2019 and you can register your child by attending Teen Social Justice information session on Sept 4th.
What We Offer:
Youth Travel: TSJ participants will travel 3 times per year and our goal is to provide cultural, transformational, & adventurous trips for middle and highschool students.
Children can learn invaluable lessons while travelling which cannot possibly be taught within a school environment. With travel, children gain independence, confidence, and can advance his/her critical thinking skills through real life situations on the road. Visiting new places allows children to explore new types of food, meet new people, and be exposed to different cultures and gain hands on experience.
Includes: college prep tour, civics and cultural related field trips and more.
September 20-22 Jekyll Island: TSJ Participants will visit New Wanderer Memory Trail created to honor survivors of one last slave ships to land in the U.S.
Young Poets +Performing Arts
Begins September 4th
Students will create live performances that bring awareness to and examine issues of social injustices and historical times. This free program cover a range of interests, from dancing, acting, and visual arts.
Workshop series: Spoken word, acting, visual arts and dancing: Know Your Rights+Civil Rights Era lessons
Girls Code
Begins October 23rd
This 6 week modeling and beauty session is designed to build young girls self-confidence, offer self-care and beauty tips. In addition to providing a safe space for girls, anti-bullying and peer-to-peer mentorship. Instructors will offer runway and body image lessons; roundtable discussions, and field trips. All students will participate in a fashion show. Middle and High School students welcomed.
Includes: modeling, fashion, and beauty lessons. Girls activities and anti-bullying workshops.
Young Apprentice

Afterschool and weekends, students will have an opportunity to explore different career fields and work with local business owners for 6-8 weeks sessions. This is an experiential learning experience designed to help students discover and develop their career and social skills. To expose teens to business ownership and professional career options.
Workshop series: Financial literacy and youth Investment. Students will learn how to spend and invest their own money
