1. Pass H.B. 636, The Use of Force Act, which requires all state and local law enforcement to create public databases that track the use of force.
2. Repeal the Georgia Citizen’s Arrest Law claimed as a defense in the murder of Ahmaud Arbery.
3. Adopt H.B. 426, an LGBTQ-inclusive, bipartisan hate crimes bill.
BELOW IS A LIST OF (MUNICIPAL) DEMANDS YOUR CAN SHARE WITH YOUR LOCAL GOVERNMENT:
1. Ban choke-holds, strangle holds, and tear gas
2. Require that police officers to give a warning before they shoot
3. Require that officers have a duty to intervene to stop another officer from using excessive force
4. Require deescalation and a force continuum (limits the type of force and/or weapons that can be used in specific instances)
5. Require that officers exhaust all other reasonable means before resorting to deadly force
6. Require that officers report each time they use force or threaten to use force against civilians
7. Establish a community police advisory board by August 2020 (currently under development)
8. Demand that law enforcement officers are removed from the school system
9. Demilitarize police
