Athens, GA – The Athens Anti-Discrimination Movement has a new Justice Center and bookstore and we hope you’ll join us for our grand opening on January 16th from 12-5pm!
What to expect:
12:30 pm: Ribbon Cutting Ceremony followed by guest speakers including Mayor Kelly Girtz, District Attorney Deborah Gonzales, and Sheriff John Q. Williams!
1:30 – 5:00 pm: Guests can enter the office (limit to 10 people at a time), buy books, and collect information about AADM’s various programs.
The AADM Justice Center will provide services and workshops to help adults and juveniles protect their rights and obtain a second chance. By offering bail and legal assistance, community service, and advocacy support AADM goal is to reduce recidivism rates and to help individuals successfully address their specific needs related to their involvement in the justice system.
In addition, the AADM Justice Center will house the Teen Social Justice after-school program designed to cultivate future community leaders. Community members can purchase/donate books and artwork to support our cause.
