Join the AADM and CCSD 2020 graduates May 22nd, 3:00 to 4:30 pm for Athens High School Students Graduation Caravan. The Athens Anti-Discrimination Movement will organize a caravan-style graduation celebration for Athens-Clarke County School District graduates. ALL Athens High School graduates are welcome to attend.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic students and parents had to quickly adjust to a new way of life which included school closures and home schooling. To keep Athens, Georgia residents safe several activities were postponed/cancelled such as CCSD HS seniors graduation. By hosting this event students/parents will have an opportunity to safely celebrate and honor CCSD graduates. Our goal is to uplift graduates spirit and honor their achievements.
What to expect:
2:00-3:00 pm Students and parents will meet at Athens Clarke County Library 2025 Baxter Street, Athens Ga 30606.
3:00 pm Recognition: all the graduates who register names will be announced at the event.
3:25 Depart promptly from ACC Library.
Requirements:
- One vehicle allowed per graduate (car, vans, trucks, etc. allowed)
- We encourage participants/volunteers to wear facial mask and practice social distancing by remaining inside his/her vehicle
- All participants must register. To keep everyone safe we must limit the number of vehicles that participate in this graduation.
- Only 2020 graduates/parents welcomed (family and friends must ride/remain in the graduates vehicle)
- We encourage participants to decorate their vehicles/have signs
