2020 Get On the Bus and Vote Initiative
Athens, Ga. – In an effort to draw attention to the importance of participating in our elections, and to mobilize Black and Brown registered voters and those in marginalized communities, The Athens Anti-Discrimination Movement (AADM) is offering free, safe rides to the polls for the 2020 Election on November 3rd!
AADM will be canvassing neighborhoods on October 18th and 24th to encourage voters to participate in this important election and to offer our transportation services on election day.
AADM will be joined by the Black Law Students Association (BLSA) and other University of Georgia student groups.
Voting is one of the most important parts of our democracy – don’t let transportation be a barrier for you! Let’s vote together!
Those in need of transport to their precinct should contact AADM by texting 706-389-4129.
Participants are asked to please wear a mask – if you don’t have a mask, we will provide one for you. All social distancing guidelines will be observed and hand sanitizer will be available.
