Over a period of time, a successful entrepreneur or business owner can help to decrease welfare, increased tax base and income, decreased crime, or break the cycle of generational poverty. Athens Black Market is designed to encourage Black entrepreneurship and provide a marketplace for minority business owners to generate an income while serving the community.
This program includes training and development, business resources, and a mobile marketplace. Our goal is to stimulate culture and diversity within Downtown Athens, encourage black and minority-business ownership, economic development, secure funding, monitor taxation and improve local business policies.
