The Movement shares the powerful journey of a modern civil rights movement taking place in Athens, Georgia. It features in-depth interviews with passionate Athenians involved with the Athens Anti-Discrimination Movement (AADM), offers exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, and shines a spotlight on how the AADM has transformed the Classic City. By boldly bringing critical social justice issues to light and tirelessly advocating for equity and accountability, the AADM is creating lasting change within our community.

Tamara

“I like to thank the AADM for helping me with funding for my recovery program. Because of your help I am able to continue my recovery journey. I am truly grateful for your kind and positive words of encouragement and helping me in my situation that I was hopeless about. If it wasn’t for your help I don’t know what I would have done. Thank you so very much!!”

Mother of Tahtiana

“My daughter Tahtiana was excited to attend the annual Thespian Conference, but we didn’t have the funds, and my car broke down. I reached out to Mr. Knowa Johnson and the AADM Movement, and they generously helped us. Thanks to them, my daughter can go to the conference, and we are so grateful for their support and the work they do for our community.”

Mr. B

“Mr. B and his wife were homeless when he was arrested after a public argument. AADM bonded him out of jail and provided a hotel room so they could rest and regroup. Five months later, they have an air-conditioned car, are working with Advantage to find permanent housing and healthcare, and Mr. B is starting a new job next week. We are proud to support them as they move their life forward.”
